How to make "Riptide" an even better film

Riptide / 1934 / with a sexy Robert Montgomery and Norma Shearer

Edmund Goulding did a masterful job with film...sliding all of it's innuendo laced dialogue in under the radar of the production code. BUT...there are ways to make the film better. So I present the recipe for "Riptide Redux," dedicated to Lady Mary Rexford:

1.) There needs to be more sex. All this hinting just doesnt cut it. The code has gone by the wayside. There should be at least one naked love scene with the Lady and Tommy Trent. Preferably several. 2.) More drug usage...all that gin and no reefer is quite unbelievable. 3.) Lord Rexford is an unsympathetic, controlling, and untrusting fool. He has all this money but just wants to keep the Lady as his showpiece, and never let her have any adventures. There should be a scene where Tommy kicks his ass if we (or the Lady) are really supposed to feel pity for this guy. 4.) Ok, this is the most important. We have to nix the ending. The original ending comes out of left field and is completely unsubstantiated. No one buys it at all. It's supposed to play as a happy ending, but it's just the opposite! Come on, really...we're supposed to believe that Lady Rexford gives up a life of passion and adventure for this controlling hermit? I hear the smallest violin in the world playing the Stones' "Under my Thumb." So here's how that will change in Riptide Redux...she won't sacrifice her well-being for someone else's. That is too docile a move for such a strong leading lady. Tommy won't take NO for an answer and will steal her away. Then they will live happily ever after, as Tommy talked of earlier in the movie...sleeping all day and waking up just as the evening starts to get gay...dancing all night and living in their own beautiful world together. Now that's the happy ending we want. The End.

what the hell does that mean? that's sort of ambiguous, mr. or ms. paralox. i think you should post in french next time so we can at least sort of understand, n-est-ce pas?

hey, chill, jon mate. You're sexier than Robert Montgomery. That Paralox guy wanted to say your blog is cool, nothing else (i guess). The thing is he has undestood that one of the best way to make your brand new blog known is to post many comments in other blogs.
