Put your dukes up!! Debate #3

Analysis of the debate:
To get opinion out of the way, I just have to say how much I hate it when Bush does his little snicker...
Ok. So both of them said things that weren't true, but all politicians are liars, it comes with the territory. But as Alfred Hitchcock stated about everyone being a little crazy, but, it's the degree that counts. The same can be said about these guys.
I felt the questions, especially the last few, were not so tough...no real curveballs. The last ones about faith and about their wives were sickening underhanded softballs that actually favor Bush obviously because he wears his alleged faith on his sleeve and because the "women in their life" question gave him a good chance to tell one of his Texas backyard barbeque anecdotes. I am resisting the Nausea.
But let's get into the specifics...
My favorite line of the evening comes from Sen. Kerry:
"Being lectured by the president on fiscal responsibility is a little bit like Tony Soprano talking to me about law and order in this country."
Hmmmm....

Bush once again avoided questions...succeeding in the old rule of thumb--don't answer the question that was asked--answer the question you WISH had been asked of you. Specifically, Bush was asked about if he would overturn Roe V. Wade--which he sidestepped, by saying that Kerry was really asking about having litmus tests for Sup. Ct. justices. Kerry called him on it though.
Bush talked about "how only a liberal Senator from Massachusetts would say that increasing spending on education by 49% isn't enough." Kerry called him on this point as well. It's not how much money you throw at things, it's the result that counts. Just like Bush's billion or so dollar plan for abstinence programs--no matter how much money you throw down it won't stop teenagers from boning.
The faith questions made me sick though, because half of the people who called in to CSPAN after the debate were talking about how they love Bush because he's a Christian "who prays a lot." He is playing them like bitches. What the fuck do these abstactions have to do with the man who lives underneath the bridge across the street from my apartment? Nothing. God doesn't make my stomach full when I haven't eaten. Bush is the sickest hypocrite since Hitler. Talking about compassionate conservatism with wanting to ban abortions and embryonic stem cell research. What respect for human life?? What about the record number of people that were part of his record number of executions in Texas? What about the innocent civilians killed in Iraq, Afghanistan and beyond? Does that bring back the people we lost on 9/11.
The fact is after 9/11, we did a 180 degree turn. We went from having the sympathy of the world, to being its bane. Thanks to one man. Guess who.
